It is widely assumed that Samsung will have several smartphone releases in 2026 with the Galaxy S26 series and the next-generation foldables, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8, leading the charge. Moreover, South Korean leaks provide the most crucial facts regarding the specs, price, and release dates ahead of the official announcements.
A recent report suggests that despite the ongoing global RAM shortage, rising costs of competitors, and all other factors, Samsung will keep the same price for the Galaxy S26 series. The analysts proposed that this would be the main reason behind Samsung's decision, namely, selling the same volume and making profits at the same time.
The Galaxy S26 series is said to be revealed on February 25 in San Francisco. The supposed line-up consists of three models: Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The sources are saying that the devices could be available in stores in March, that is, a little later than the previous prediction of a late-January sale.
When it comes to the specs, the entry-level Galaxy S26 will offer a 4,300mAh battery, which is a step-up from the S25's 4,000mAh cell. The Galaxy S26+ will probably have empowered camera features such as "3x zoom HDR shooting" support. The processing power is expected to differ depending on the region; the Ultra variant might be loaded with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 worldwide, while the S26 and S26+ will perhaps operate on Exynos 2600 in a few markets, thus carrying on Samsung's tradition of dual-chipsets.
Also, Samsung's foldable phones are likely to be launched in the middle of the year. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is claimed to have a weight of 200g, which is 15g less than Fold 7 and it might be coming with a 5,000mAh battery, which is an upgrade from the previous 4,400mAh. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to be 150g heavy, which is about 38g lighter than its predecessor, indicating a more compact design.
According to industry experts, this move by Samsung is an indication to improving battery life and portability in its main and folding models while maintaining competitive prices. Samsung plans to strengthen its presence in the high-end smartphone market with the S26 series and foldables both launching in 2026.
